Takase river

Thank you for coming my blog. Today I would like to talk about Takase river . Tkakase river is one of the most famous river in kyoto city. And this river often appear in historical event , because there was a lot of inn what was used by historical famous person around this river. Ikumatu (this is already explained by this blog) is one of them. Now there are many pab and historical heritage and Jaoanese restaurant in which you can feel a Japanese tradition around here. And Takase river is very beautiful , so people who came to kyoto usually come to this river. so I really recomand you to come here. I'm sure you can have a good day. see you next time.

Gion

Gion is traditional downtown. There is a lot of historical , traditional restaurant.
and if you go to Gion, you can see a Geisya. Geisya is Japanese traditional hostes.
But sometimes you can not enter the restaurant , if you have never been to there.
Because they dislike stranger. so you have to go with people who has already been to there.
In these restaurant, you can eat a Japanese traditional food. And you can take a Geisya service.

Nijou Castle

Nijou Castle was biult by Ieyasu Tokugawa ( the first shogun of Tokugawa shogunate ) in 1603. Nijou Castle has experienced a lot of historical event. Among them the most important event is "Taiseihoukan"(the Restoration of Imperial Rule) in 1867. By this event, Tokugawa shogunate lost them political force, and emperor got political force back. so Nijou Castle is center of Meiji revolution.

IKUMATSU

Ikumatu is famous and historical hotel (japanese traditional hotel)

Because Ikumatu was used by Kogorou Katura, Choyu ( one of the big politics group ) revolutionaly person and one of the vest important person of Meiji revolution. He really so often used this hotel , because his girl friend worked in there. her name is Ikumatu. and so many historical imprtant people used this hotel. and this hotel appeared in the film of Rurounikenshin.

And amazingly, this hotel is still businessing. so If you wanna stay there , you can stay there.

Sumiya

Sumiya is like a Japanese pub. but little bit different from normal pub. In this pub , people could drink and eat and play with Geisya(Japanese hostes).

And this place was used by a lot of historical famous person. Shinsengumi also used this place so often.

And this place has been maintained as it is by kyoto city government .

Himura Kenshin

Do you know Himura kenshin ? Himura kenshin is main character of "Rurouni kenshin". "Rurouni kenshin" is comic about Meiji era. And in this story, he is called Himura Battosai. Himura Battousai is his old nickname. And he is swordsman. He is master of ancient swordschool of HITEN MITSURUGIRYU.And he is part of the choshu revolutionary. He worked in choshu for five years, from 14 to19. He was hired for the first half of his career as a killer who kill the person who against revolution. so he was relentless assassin lurking in the darkness of the night. and in the latter half, acting as a free swordsman to protect his comrades from the governmant's killers, the shinsengumi. Thus the killer(Himura kenshin) who would never have seen in the light of day became a legend........that's his character in this comic. but...to tell the truth, he is actual person. and these fact is almost truth. But true name is Kawakami Gensai. Kawakami Gensai is legend killer. and his way is mainly Battoujyutu.

the sequel to shinsengumi

I would like to continue a talk about shinsengumi.

There is one incident what became shinsengumi famous. This incindent called "ikedaya incident".

ikedaya is a inn . and this inn was used to be used by revolution gorvenment. so this place was very important place for revolution. one day , shinsengumi torture someone who is part of revolution gorvanment to extract a secret meeting . and shinsengumi succeeded to extract a secret meeting. but they didn't know where the meeting hold. so they started to look for the place. and they found the place accidentally. and this name is "ikedaya". and then they entared this inn and killed master. and they attacked to revolutionaly politician. in this icident , they killed a lot of revolutionaly politician who is very important person for revolution. so shinsengumi became a famous.

SINSENGUMI

Hi! today I would like to explain about "shinsengumi".

shinsengumi is killer of government .and they was feared among the revolutional government. Because they are very storong and cold. and they were always tring to kill people who against goverment. so they were very dangerous group.

But they are very popular in history fan.Because they were storong and experienced tragic end.
